Historical story about Bac Me Camp
Before 1938, the French colonialists built Bac Me Camp to control the traffic routes of the three provinces of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang and Cao Bang, during their occupation of Ha Giang.
In 1938, due to the strong development of the Vietnamese revolutionary movement, the French colonialists turned Bac Son camp into a place to detain political prisoners from Son La, Phu Tho, Hoa Lo such as comrade Nguyen Hong, comrade Khuat Duy Tien, comrade Tran Thi Khanh, etc. The portraits of these exemplary soldiers are displayed at the relic site.
At the end of 1945, along with the victory of the uprising to seize power, Cang Bac Me was also liberated. Through many ups and downs, the vestiges and memories here were preserved to become a source of pride for our people in the struggle against French colonialism.

How to get to Cang Bac Me
From Hanoi to Cang Bac Me, there are two main routes: from Hanoi to Ha Giang city and from the city center to Cang Bac Me.
You can easily go to Ha Giang by bus or personal vehicle. You just need to go to bus stations such as My Dinh Bus Station to catch a bus to Ha Giang. However, you should book a bus in advance to have enough seats for members as well as to be proactive with the time.
From Ha Giang city to Cang Bac Me, you go northwest to enter National Highway 2. Go straight when you meet Yen Bien bridge, then turn right onto National Highway 34. Continue on Nguyen Thai Hoc street to provincial road TL176, then keep going straight to Cang Bac Me. The total distance you need to travel is about 60km, taking about 2 hours.
My advice to you is to choose a motorbike as a means of transportation because the road to the district is still dangerous, so a motorbike helps you move and control more easily. If you do not have a motorbike or are not confident in your driving ability, you can choose the Ha Giang motorbike rental service.
