Cap Sac Festival – November, December

At the end of the year, after the exciting festivals, the Cap Sac ceremony is both the ending festival and the opening ceremony of a new year. This is a festival of the Dao ethnic group, a festival that is simulated in the Ha Giang tour.

Why did Farwego choose to incorporate this show into the tour? Because of its uniqueness, as well as the festival’s great significance to the Dao people. This is a ceremony to welcome the “adulthood” of male family members. According to the Dao people’s beliefs, only those who have undergone the coming-of-age ceremony can participate in important village affairs. The rituals in the ceremony are also quite complicated, requiring a lot of offerings and dedication. The person performing the ceremony also needs to have experience and age that is suitable to the homeowner’s requirements.

The ceremony usually lasts from 1 to 5 days, including: Presentation ceremony, slaughtering a pig for the ceremony, and offering a chicken to the ancestors. Each custom is performed in its own way, showing respect for the culture of our ancestors in the past.

In Farwego Travel’s Cap Sac show, you will be able to participate in a simulated ritual under the firelight. Enjoy the folk culture while relaxing with your fellow travelers.
